WRONG

This is a poem that wears pain like a clothe. It carries disappointment like a handbag. It touches the deepest parts of your mind, those parts that were purposely hidden to save your heart the hurt.

The pain that grows old but never dies and becomes young with every bitter pill of memory. My intention is not to stir up ugly memories, It is to assist you in your voyage of becoming tougher and stronger. Be strong from within, look for the strength and never let it go…

You are wrong
When you trust
The other man
That’s not YOU

You are wrong
When you trust
The so-called friend
That’ll hurt YOU

You are wrong
When you believe
You’ve a friend
When in truth
It’s just YOU.

😍😍😍. Thanks. This got me smiling. Because I’m about to say the same thing but differently… You are right when you say we are so wrong because i am wrong too. I have been wrong in the past and i am learning to be right for me instead of trying to be right for others(society: family, peers, mentors, friends, boy-friend, judgemental individuals with a growing self righteous bump on their shoulders, employers and many others. From my tender years till now, I have been wrong. Now I’m getting to the right

Yeah true, because at the end of the day, when everybody leaves, you are just alone with yourself. So goes back to what u said in the beginning. Your comment looked like a micro poem

Great poem 🙂 And yes, YOU must always come first- however much that sometimes seems thoughtless, it is the truth. I have learnt that the hard way. Thanks for sharing 🙂

😊. My pleasure Alex. Some people will call it selfish, but when you trust and get back stabbed, they’ll say you are you soft. So i decided its better to live your life for you and not anybody else. Because at the end of the day, its yours.

I can read a lot of philosophy on this thread. but let me change the table- what if you are the bad, back stabbing friend? its human nature to cast stones to anybody but ourselves.

what if you are the one that hurts ur friend?

Even Judas Iscariot blamed Jesus after he has sold him out.

In as much as we should look into our self and be to strong, I am of the opinion that we should also look into ourselves when things go wrong with others, for we might be the cause.

Well, bad doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If someone is the bad, there is obviously a strong reason or not for why the person is behaving as such. I wrote this piece for those who have been wronged, for I have been wronged. I did not turn my gaze to the wrong doers, if i had, it would have been a different ballgame entirely. So the Poem has its initial meaning and like you have said correctly, Its meaning could be turned around to benefit other purposes. So yh, thanks for your comment. It made a lot of sense.
