MY THOUGHTS

Hey Beautiful! Hey Handsome! I would love to share my thoughts with you today. These thoughts have been dwelling at the back of my mind for a long time now, they have grown and now they occupy my whole body and I can’t help it, I just have to let it out. I hope you find it worth  pondering over.

I discovered something, in all my learning that Life is indeed meaningless when you do not have a purpose attached to it.When you haven’t found your place in the world, you are just a wanderer waiting to die.I laugh sadly when I hear people say; “I just wanna take it step by step”, “one day at a time”, “enjoying the present”, “nobody knows tomorrow!” I laugh because some of these people do not realize that you need to have a goal, you need to have a life plan, you need to have a purpose and while it is impossible to achieve everything at once, you will need to break it all up to small tiny pieces and proceed to take it one step at a time before you reach your goal. I feel very bad when these people goals are empty, or really mediocre compared to what they actually have the capacity to do. They are living life with death as the big picture. So sad.

I step out of my house each day and I am faced with the same old people who don’t know yet what they want to do with their lives.

“I  just want to finish school, start my company, get married and live happy and comfortable…” they talk like this is an achievement of some sort and I shake my head because most people think really small, selfish and mediocre. I think and wonder if that was how people like Bill Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg, Leonardo da Vinci, Nelson Mandela, Margaret Thatcher,Isaac newton, Albert Einstein and many others thought when they were doing what they were doing that brought them to greatness.

To many, “It’s all about the money!” No, It’s not! Many people are chasing money, wealth and affluence and they do not pause to think why these things are running away. It’s because there really is nothing for them to accomplish in your life. Many just want to grow rich and die old. Existing and not really living. Only just a few look to make impact on lives because at the end of the day, it is only lives that matter. Beauty, riches, luxury and affluence are perishable. They will fade. They cannot last till the end of  time, its not in their nature to  do so.

Indeed, she was Miss Universe, she got into an accident and got disfigured beyond recognition and now her world wide acknowledged beauty is only a phantasmal memory, lost in the wind of the harsh reality of life.Yes, He was a great business man, he was one of the world’s richest men. He is now struggling for what to eat each day. His friends have betrayed him, His family have deserted him because without all his money, what use is He anyway? He lost everything and now he is contemplating suicide. That Artiste is one of the best in the world, Everybody loved him until he was caught in the act of murder. He tried to convince everyone that he was innocent and that it was a mistake, it was unintentional, but he did murder. He did. But under the influence of the “coke”.

My point, when all is said and done, what lives have you impacted because it is these ones that will always remain to testify after everything is gone. You are not rich, if everyone around you is poor. Don’t be too afraid to give because, it is when you give that you open up yourself to receive. You might think, you don’t have a lot to give but you can speak good words of encouragement, you can smile at someone, you can comfort someone who is in pain  or dejection, you can be a friend in need, you can devout your time to a just cause.

When you trust in your riches or material things, you become a slave to them. A wise man once said that money is a good servant but a bad master. When you serve money and material gains and they give way from under you and go away;which is in their nature to do as they cannot last forever, and when there is nothing to cushion your hard fall, a lot of bones will break. That, I can assure you.

Money is only a tool, it is never the goal. It is only a means to an end and not the end itself. Money does not make you rich, people do. Look for opportunities to build great relationships, leave a mark in the heart of someone. Be an individual of Impact. Explore your capabilities. You can never know what you are capable of until you do it. Choose where you matter and  go where you are needed. Look around you and make a positive change. Leave your world better than you met it.

As for me, I am not chasing money. I’m walking with a vision in my head and a mission in my steps. I’m a voice for the voiceless and a face for the unseen. I  choose this path of selfless servitude because I understand where true riches lie. I’m not asking you to do what i am doing. I’m asking you to make your life matter.

“Money is only worth making if it is going to be used as an instrument to set others free.”

-Sunday Adelaja, Author of “Money won’t make  you Rich”(2012)

Nice piece, being goal oriented is the key to a fulfilling life. Knowing what your goals are is really a necessity. Achieving one’s goals would lead to happiness, feeling of success and satisfaction, it doesn’t matter what they are, it doesn’t have to be something big as long as that would give the person satisfaction.

It does matter what they are, some people have sinister goals… Some are living life as a competition with others. The idea is to leave your world better than you met it and not worse off.

Many people have position, wealth, power, fame etc. but they may not have what really matters; Right standing with God, good relationships, peace, joy, contentment, satisfaction, health, & ability to enjoy life. -Joyce Meyer
We should always remember that Jesus Christ said; “Apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5). Nothing means NOTHING-the sooner we realise this fact & embrace Him, the better off we are.
